Cecil D. Andrus Park | Across from the Idaho State Capitol

All are welcome to be part of this historic day honoring the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

People from across Idaho and beyond are invited to Boise this summer for Hands Around the Capitol 2025, a free public event honoring the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Live entertainment, interactive exhibits, and over 60 booths connecting you to resources, allies, and new opportunities. This full-day experience is designed to inform, empower, and celebrate. Whether you’re here to learn, play, network, or take action—you belong here.

At 11:30 AM, more than 1,000 people are needed to join hands and encircle the Capitol in a symbolic act of unity and commitment to disability rights and equal access for all.

The red, white, and blue ribbon surrounding the Capitol is more than decoration — it’s a declaration. A powerful symbol of life, liberty, and the pursuit of freedom, it represents the right to choose where to live, how to move, where to work, and how to fully participate in everyday life, including housing, education, transportation, voting, and civic life.

This is about access, belonging, and the truth: freedom isn’t real unless it includes everyone.
