Employment services

The Employment Services Program at the Living Independence Network Corporation (LINC) assists all people with disabilities in their efforts to find work. We offer a variety of employment and vocational services to help our consumers prepare for, locate, and maintain suitable employment. We provide an array of services both remotely and in person.

Ticket to Work

LINC is a Ticket to Work provider through the American Dream Employment Network (ADEN). Social Security's Ticket to Work Program supports career development for Social Security disability beneficiaries ages 18 through 64 who want to work. The Ticket Program is free and voluntary. The Ticket Program helps people with disabilities progress toward financial independence.

The Ticket Program is a good fit for people who want to improve their earning potential and are committed to preparing for long-term success in the workforce. This program offers beneficiaries with disabilities access to meaningful employment with the assistance of Ticket to Work employment service providers called Employment Networks. If you are ready to go to work, there are people ready and waiting to help you!

For more information, check out our Ticket to Work website.

Financial Literacy

Financial literacy classes for people with disabilities are designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively, while addressing the unique challenges they may face. These classes cover essential topics such as budgeting, saving, understanding credit, and managing debt, with a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Participants learn how to navigate financial systems, access benefits and resources, and make informed decisions that support their independence and long-term financial stability. By tailoring content to meet different needs, these programs empower people with disabilities to achieve greater economic self-sufficiency and security.

ABLE Accounts

The ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience) savings account program allows people with disabilities to save money without losing access to critical government benefits like Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Designed for individuals whose disability began before age 26, ABLE accounts provide a tax-advantaged way to save up to $17,000 per year (as of 2023) for disability-related expenses, including healthcare, housing, education, and assistive technology. Funds in ABLE accounts grow tax-free, and balances under $100,000 do not count toward asset limits for benefits eligibility. This program helps people with disabilities build financial security and independence while maintaining access to essential supports.

Self-Advocacy Training

LINC's Self-Advocacy & Leadership Training program focuses on empowering individuals to effectively communicate their needs, rights, and goals - including in the workplace. Participants learn how to navigate job searches, request accommodations, understand their rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and advocate for fair treatment in hiring, retention, and career advancement. The training also covers strategies for building confidence, improving communication skills, and fostering independence in managing work-related challenges. By equipping individuals with these tools, the program helps people with disabilities pursue meaningful employment and succeed in their professional lives with greater autonomy and self-assurance.
